Theatre Maker and Designer
Hi, I'm Josh, a theatre maker and designer based in Bath, working primarily as a Prop / Scenery maker and designer. I am a multi skilled theatre maker with experience in Scenography, Sound, Lighting and Video design.
My love for theatre and live performance began at a young age when I was fascinated by the on stage entertainment at the caravan parks I would stay at on family holidays. Like many other people in our industry, I then began doing mobile disco, starting at the age of 12.
After working for many years in lighting and sound for festivals and music I studied Theatre Festival and Event Production at Bath Spa University, where I discovered my passion for scenography and props.
As a keen environmental activist, creating sustainable performances is a vital part of my work. I really enjoy developing new techniques as well as reverting back to traditional theatre techniques to reduce the impact of our industry on our planet. I also believe that sustainability begins at the design stage of a project so love to work with other designers to help them think about sustainability.
I enjoy creating unique and immersive worlds that encompass and amaze the audience. I particularly enjoy creating theatre that encourages play in both children and adults alike while still pushing the limits of the possible and acceptable.
Redfox Entertainment is a reference to the video and broadcasting company I set up and ran for 4 years before coming to university and discovering my passion for prop making and theatre design. As well as my love for foxes.
